THANK YOU! British Cured Meat Awards Entries are in!

Entry for this years Cannon & Cannon British Cured Meat Awards has ended. It is a truly staggering response in our first year in charge of the Judging and will make for an awesome Awards in the Autumn. We’re very pleased to say that the goods entered are in the hundreds of Salami, Cured Whole Muscles and Meaty snacks, and made by a range of talented producers from all across the country – we are also chuffed to see that nearly two thirds of whom have entered completely free as members of the Charcuterie Board, we cannot wait for the judging process to start and get a real taste of all of these great products!

Almost as much as we look forward to judging your entries, we’re also very excited for the British Cured Meat Festival itself which will take place later on in the year, as well as the great reception we have planned with the School of Artisan Foods hosted at the Welbeck estate September – exclusively for Charcuterie Board producers to meet with buyers from around the country to make some deals and get some business done. We wish the best of luck to all those who have entered, and as always encourage those of you that haven’t entered this year to head down to the festival and try some of the amazing charcuterie on show for yourselves.

We are going through the entry details and grouping things into suitable tasting menus for our judging get togethers, which will be held over the spring and summer. We will be in touch with producers soon to notify which month entries will need to be sent in for assessment and we will also be sharing details and news of our wonderful judges as we move into the tasting stage!

If you have entered the Awards, but are still not a ‘Board Member then you can still join up to get in on the ‘Meet the Buyer’ event at the School of Artisan Food to be held in September.
